# Draw command of Auto CAD # Draw Commands

## You will be to use the drawing commands ## Line

• Click Line on toolbar

Or

• L press on Keyboard and then enter
• Specify 1st point of line
• Specify next point of line

We use here some dimension then press enter

## Poly line

Poly line is same as line drawing. It is chain of line and it has more feature than line. So you can do more using poly line. For example you can draw thick line of line and arc at a time. If you draw two or more lines by poly line command these lines will be one object. Clicking on it will high light all lines. It is very useful command of 3D auto cad

When you start the command, you will notice that there are several options available:

Follow the steps to draw poly line

• Click Draw Toolbar
• Click Poly line
• Click anywhere on the screen
• Specify next point • Specify next point

## Polygons

Polygons are geometric shapes with a set number of sides. Squares, octagons and triangles are all forms of polygons. In Auto CAD, you can execute the Polygon command from a toolbar or by typing “polygon” at the command line. When you do, the program asks you to enter the “number of sides” that your polygon will have. Once you do that, you’re prompted at the command line to specify either the center, or edge, of the polygon. The difference between each is explained below:

### Center:

You select the center point of an imaginary circle, which will either inscribe or Circumscribe your polygon around that circle. The program then asks you which of those two options to use. The example above shows the difference between Inscribing and Circumscribing your polygon.

### Edge:

You select a start point on screen and then either choose a second point which will define the length of a single segment of your polygon, as shown in the example above. When you draw a polygon you need to some basic knowledge how to draw polygon:

Polygon draw are three options there are

1. Inscribed in circle
3. Edge of circle
##### Pick polygon icon or write command line:
• Pol then enter
• Enter number of side say you need to draw hexagon you will write 6 then enter
• Specify center of polygon or [Edge]
• You pick cursor center of polygon
• Enter an option [Inscribed in circle/Circumscribed about circle]
• In these option at first I for inscribed in circle

or

• C for circumscribed about circle.
• Specify radius of circle. you need to get dimension then enter
• How to draw polygon used Edge
##### Pick polygon icon or write command line:
• Pol then enter
• Enter number of side say you need to draw hexagon you will write 6 then enter
• Specify center of polygon or [Edge]
• Now we get E for Edge
• Specify 1st edge point
• Specify 2nd edge point

### Rectangle

Rectangle: To draw a rectangle you need to specify two corner points of the rectangle. See the picture a rectangle of 100mm unit width and 50 unit height . Assume A,B,C and D are the corner point of that rectangle. you need to specify any two corner points for drawing it. You can specify A and C corner points or you can specify B and D corner points. ### Circle

Drawing a circle seems like a simple enough task, and it is, but remember that when drafting you need to draw your circles at specific locations and sizes. In the CAD world, just drawing a circle that’s “close enough” isn’t going to cut it. We begin drafting circles by using the “Circle” command from either the toolbar or by typing it at the command line. The program prompts you to select your “first point” on screen.

There are several options how to draw circle:

• Draw> Circle > Center, radius
• Draw> Circle > Center, radius
• Draw> Circle> 2 Point
• Draw> Circle> 3 Point
• Draw> Circle> Tan, Tan, Radius
• Draw> Circle> Tan, Tan, Tan

#### Procedure of Draw> Circle > Center, Radius

• Specify center point of circle or [3P/2P/Ttr (tan, tan, radius)] #### Procedure of Draw> Circle > Center, Diameter

• Specify center point of circle or [3P/2P/Ttr (tan, tan, radius)]
• Specify Diameter of circle #### Draw> Circle> 2 Point

• Specify 1st end point of circle
• Specify 2nd end point of circle #### Draw> Circle> 3 Point

• Specify 1st end point of circle
• Specify 2nd end point of circle
• Specify 3rd end point of circle #### Draw> Circle> Tan, Tan, Radius

When you need to draw tan, tan, radius circle at first you draw 2 circles then

• Draw> Circle> Tan, tan, radius
• Specify 1st tangent point
• Specify 2nd tangent point #### Draw> Circle> Tan, Tan, Tan

When you need to draw tan, tan, radius circle at first you draw 3 circles then

• Draw> Circle> Tan, Tan, Tan
• Specify 1st tangent point
• Specify 2nd tangent point
• Specify 3rd tangent point
